THE NATIONAL FLYING CLUB £5 SUPER RAFFLE

PAUL KENDAL / MARK DORRINGTON

St. Malo National Race

For this series of raffles the National Flying Club have been very fortunate in having some of the best fanciers in the country donate birds to be raffled  for extra prize money for the Tarbes National / International.  For this years race an extra £2,300 was flown for by members, and the remainder of the raffle money raised will go to next years Tarbes National / International.  These birds have been donated by members who believe that International racing is the way forward for the Grand National, how proud Paul and Helen Kendal must feel of their bird Litton Glory, which won 252nd International on what was a hard day for the British fanciers.  Fanciers from all over Europe commented on the British birds achievements, recognising the marvellous performances these birds put up.  It is fitting therefore, that for the last raffle of this year, we have a bird jointly donated by Mark Dorrington and Paul Kendal. I was over the moon to be offered a 2011 young bird the same way bred as the Tarbes National winner, Litton Glory.  The breeding of this bird is amazing, the sire is “Adam” a full brother to “Morning Glory” who has won twice 2nd open Pau Grand National and is bred down from Paul Kendal’s Pau Grand National winner “Holloway Boy” and Geoff Cooper’s family. The dam is Mark Dorringtons hen “Bernetta” a daughter of   the brilliant racer “Maximus“ which Jos Thone purchased, “Maimus” won the  Limoges Belgium National and many other top prizes.
This is an amazing opportunity to obtain what must be one of the most sought after young birds in the UK at this time.  The raffle is not restricted to NFC members, it is open to all, just send a cheque payable to the NFC for as many tickets as you require @ £5 each to Geoff Cooper, Dove Dale, Huddox Hill, Peasedown St John, Bath BA2 8EA and he will post you a receipt and counterfoils by return of post.  Tickets will also be on sale at all the marking stations, if you do not see any, just ask.  If you are not going to the marking station then you can send for them by post to Geoff. As this raffle is for such a special bird the raffle will be extended for a week after the final young bird race, to give everybody a chance to send for tickets. So come on folks, don’t let this golden opportunity pass by, you know what they say, you’ve got to be in it, to win it!
