03/07/21 @ 12:50 hrs.The birds have been liberated at Guernsey at 12.45pm into sunshine and a 15mph South South West wind. Channel is clear with the South coast weather clearing as the birds travel onto the mainland. The UK has some showers, heavy in places and winds generally South, South West. Good luck to all. Steve White, Race Advisor / Dom McCoy, Chief Convoyer.
03/07/21 @ 11:15 hrs.Weather is very changeable, sun and cloud. Strong South South West wind but unfortunately not getting a long enough liberation sky!

03/07/21 @ 07:23 hrs. Weather improving all time at lib site. Sun out, clouds breaking.
03/07/21 @ 06:23 hrs. Saturday 5am birds all fine. Slight drizzle here similar to mainland, looking for break on channel which we could get around 10am? New liberation point is far superior to old one, visability all round birds. When liberated, they will fly inland for couple miles then they will head towards the next island, Sark, then possibly toward the Isle of Wight with South West wind. Will update later. Dom McCoy, Chief Convoyer.
02/07/21 @ 19:58 hrs. NFC Guernsey, we have showery rain and thunderstorms pushing into the UK tonight. We have spoken to all the relevant weather advisors and we will review tomorrow morning with the team. Steve White, Race Advisor, / Dom McCoy, Chief Convoyer.

After exploring all avenues, the bureaucratic response is not obliging the need for our members to prepare their birds, therefore it is with great regret that the Chairman of the NFC Mr Paul Naum, has been compelled to cancel the Grand National from San Sebastian. The Grand National race will now be held from Guernsey on 31st July, which is far from ideal, but it is better than nothing. This reluctant decision has been taken in order to add some degree of clarity, but in this ever-changing environment, any positive progression will be left open for review.
